Family is, without a doubt, a theoretical thought, notwithstanding, family (whatever one's concept of it may be) is fundamental to North Americans. In a 2010 diagram by Pew Research Center in Washington, D.C., 76 percent of adults surveyed communicated that family is "the most critical" segment of their life—just 1 percent said it was "not huge" (Pew Research Center 2010). It is furthermore basic to society.
American President Ronald Reagan famously communicated, "The family has reliably been the establishment of American culture. Our families uphold, ensure, and provide for each succeeding age the characteristics we offer and regard, values that are the foundation of our chances" (Lee 2009).
